About Goldsmiths Gallery- Hamilton’s Manufacturing Jeweller
Established in 2000 by Anthony Licht, Goldsmiths Gallery is an independent, locally owned manufacturing jeweller in the heart of Hamilton. With over 30 years of experience on the bench, Anthony and his team of qualified jewellers design and handcraft bespoke engagement rings, wedding bands, and custom jewellery onsite in our Victoria Street workshop.
Working directly with the jeweller who will create your piece ensures your vision becomes a reality — whether you are designing a modern engagement ring, remodelling sentimental gold and gemstones, or commissioning something entirely unique. Every piece is crafted with precision, integrity, and attention to detail.
We specialise in custom engagement rings and contemporary designs, offering both natural and lab grown diamonds, clear guidance on budgets, and a collaborative, pressure-free design experience.
Jewellery repairs and remodelling are also completed onsite in our Hamilton workshop. From resizing and stone replacement to restoring treasured heirlooms, your jewellery never leaves our care. We take pride in recycling and reimagining old pieces into designs you will love for years to come.
As registered members of the New Zealand Jewellers and Watchmakers Association, we are proud to serve Hamilton and the wider Waikato community with expert craftsmanship, honest advice, and jewellery made to last a lifetime.
We are an independent, locally owned and operated manufacturing jeweller with a combined workshop and retail store at 427 Victoria Street, Central Hamilton, Waikato.

Goldsmiths Gallery Designer Jewellers - Local hero on Xero
Michelle and Anthony Licht were high school sweethearts, and are now designer jewellers who love making beautiful pieces for clients. Anthony designs, Michelle handles the front of store, but their joint priority is always a clear customer focus - designing beautiful jewellery that makes the customers smile.
Michelle Licht - Women in Business
When Michelle and Anthony Licht of Goldsmiths Gallery Designer Jewellers arrived in New Zealand in 1997 as newlyweds they decided to settle in Tauranga where they had family. Husband Anthony started a small Jewellery Store while Michelle, who had a BA LLB degree from the University of Witwatersrand (converted to NZ law in 1998) worked as a solicitor to support them both.
Michelle is a great advocate for women and children, so it was clear that she would choose to practise family law. It was during this time that she was instrumental in undertaking a number of Protection Orders for which her firm later became known.
A move to Hamilton saw Michelle move out of law and work with Genesis Energy for about 18 months; it was at this time that the couple had a son, Joseph, and Michelle spent two years as a caring mum at home. During this time Michelle learned more about the jewellery business.
When their lovely daughter Jessica came along Michelle spent another two years at home. After which Michelle says she was 'more than ready' to take her place beside Anthony in the business. This ability to work in unison has led to them opening up a second store in Chartwell Shopping Centre.

While husband Anthony handles the creative side, Michelle is the face and voice of the business. She is the one that takes clients through the initial steps from just considering designing or remodelling their jewellery to the point where they are happy to go ahead with the manufacturing process.
Michelle is responsible for the majority of stock purchasing, paperwork, bookwork, as well as the advertising for the stores; all this while still being involved with the public as she loves building customer relationships, and really enjoys working in an environment that provides a superior customer service.
The business strongly believes in giving back to the community that supports it and has the Cancer Society, Hospice, Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust, True Colours at the top of its list. Michelle says each year they choose a major charity to donate a large item for a charity auction.
Anthony and Michelle have two children who love helping out in the stores when needed. Unfortunately their two dogs need to stay home!
Michelle has artfully maintained a home and work balance and still retains the essence of adding value to the multiple layers of their business.
